Research in Humanities

Charles University

The humanities make a major contribution to science and research projects at Charles University across a wide range of fields, including history, art history, philosophy, theology, ethics, languages, literature, linguistics etc. Many of these research centres have achieved significant success and recognition in both the Czech Republic and abroad – for example the Czech Institute of Egyptology and the Institute of the Czech National Corpus. The humanities are carried out mainly at the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Humanities, the three theological faculties (Catholic, Protestant and Hussite), as well as other research centres such as the Center for Theoretical Study or the Institute of the History and Archive of Charles University.
