Ph.D.Plant Sciences
The programme Plant Sciences is designed for the education of graduates capable of scientific work in theoretical natural science disciplines (botany, plant physiology and biochemistry, plant nutrition, microbiology, herbology, agroecology) related to plant production, especially to the formation of crop yields and the quality of production. The study is complemented by disciplines dealing with external conditions acting on plants (soil sciences, soil microbiology, meteorology, climatology).
Graduate profile
Graduates gain a deep understanding through theoretical courses (climatology, botany, physiology, biochemistry, plant nutrition, agroecology), which are important for understanding life processes, and the influence of environmental conditions and farming practices on crop production and product quality. They have a wide range of employment as researchers in universities and research institutions; top managers for farms, companies trading in fertilizers, herbicides; in the state administration.
