Ph.D.Integral Safety
The study program Integral Safety was prepared to develop students' thinking and their ability to learn independently in lifelong learning in subjects in the field of construction design and safety issues with an orientation on modern methods of modeling risks, fire, explosion, evacuation and structures. The basis is a broad scientific and theoretical basis in the field of advanced methods of modeling risks, fire, explosion, floods, evacuation, heat transfer and development, degradation of materials and behavior of structures in emergency situations. The most modern elements of mathematical modeling and computer simulations are used to identify and formulate new scientific questions, to develop adequate methods for their analysis and solution, and for a creative and innovative way of responding to new trends in research and engineering practice.
Graduate profile
Graduates of the doctoral study program Integral safety demonstrate in an appropriate size and extent the details of knowledge of technical disciplines relevant to construction practice; knowledge of data collection and analysis methods; understanding of the social context of construction practice, operation of buildings and their economic and environmental impacts; knowledge of the use of buildings by persons with reduced mobility or orientation; knowledge of risk prevention and taking measures to eliminate them or reduce their consequences during the preparation of the construction, its implementation and maintenance and knowledge of the security policy of the state; organization or other entity, and its principles and concepts; knowledge of methods for risk assessment, knowledge of the legal system of the Czech Republic in the field of security; knowledge of specific security specializations, including environmental threats, and knowledge of specialized software to support risk analysis and risk prevention and computerized management systems.
Graduates of the IB program are equipped with a broad scientific and theoretical background in the field of advanced methods for modelling risks, fire, explosion, floods, evacuation, heat transfer and development, material degradation and the behaviour of structures in emergency situations. This knowledge will enable them to identify and formulate new scientific problems and to develop adequate methods for their analysis and solution. To this end, they are able to use the most modern elements of mathematical modelling and computer simulations and are able to respond in a creative and innovative way to new trends in research and engineering practice. The graduate's skills include the ability to present in writing and orally their knowledge and results of their scientific work both to the professional public and to students of bachelor's and master's degree programs of construction faculties and institutions operating in related fields.
