Ph.D.Structural and Transportation Engineering
Graduate profile
Graduates of the Structural and Transportation Engineering program are equipped with developed theoretical knowledge and analytical critical thinking, which enable them to find solutions to complex theoretical and practical problems. In addition, the graduates whose studies include laboratory work have a well-developed ability to imagine the real possibilities of the proposed solutions, and thus they are able to speed up decision-making processes significantly. This ability is necessary, for example, in managerial decisions related to the acceleration of construction, immediate repairs of strategic objects with a minimum length of closure, verification of the immediate capabilities of structures and other risky activities. In addition, the graduates who became acquainted with the assessment of risks and uncertainties during the offered courses are able to quantify such uncertainties and consider the sensitivity of problem solving with respect to individual parameters, and thus they are able to design high-quality solutions.
The graduates of the Structural and Transportation Engineering program are ready to apply themselves in the commercial sphere in various positions, as well as in the scientific or pedagogical sphere. In addition to the acquired professional knowledge, the graduates are equipped with the ability of self-presentation and the ability to present professional information in both written and oral form.
