Ph.D.Smart Cities
The new doctoral study programme in Smart Cities responds to a significant urbanization trend - an increase in the number of inhabitants living in cities, which requires new management methods for further sustainable urban development, both as a whole (holistic approach) and individual subsystems such as transport systems, urbanism, logistics systems, architecture, security systems, energy systems and more. From the point of view of systems science, it is an alliance of sub-systems that contributes to the formation and resulting behaviour of the city, which must be in accordance with the established sustainable and resilient development strategy of the city. The aim of the study is to prepare students for solving complex analytical, decision-making and implementation processes in the field of transport and urbanism both at the current level of knowledge and the prospects for development. This topic is interdisciplinary and therefore experts from the Faculty of Transportation Sciences and from the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University will take part in the teaching activities. The orientation of the study program aims to deepen the student's theoretical knowledge for specific scientific work in solving scientific research tasks under the guidance of a supervisor. The study program is focused on scientific research and independent creative activity of doctoral students
