Ph.D.Production and Material Engineering

This program is based on the needs of future employers and their demand for highly qualified professionals, especially in fields focused on advanced materials, production technologies and intelligent industrial systems based on modern informatics. The concept of the study is focused on scientific research and independent creative activity taking into account strong interdisciplinary links in the field of modern mechanical engineering. The study program is conceived as multidisciplinary with overlaps between areas of material engineering, engineering technology and management of industrial enterprises and systems. The program is focused also on new materials (biomaterials, composites and plastics, materials containing nanoparticles) as well as new production technologies, including additive manufacturing. The study creates space for multidisciplinary research and solution of practical problems of industrial enterprises and systems with the aim of developing and maintaining the competitive advantage of enterprises. It responds to the urgent need to find solutions to the problems and needs of industrial practice that are not only technically feasible but also economically acceptable, environmentally sustainable and long-term sustainable. The aim of the doctoral study program is not only to educate professionals who are equipped with this knowledge, but within research and development they are able to create new original results and then commercialize them in practice.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the doctoral study program Production and Material Engineering are well prepared for development, research and subsequent transfer of interdisciplinary knowledge to industry, especially in material engineering, mechanical engineering and industrial system management. They are able to react to current market needs in areas focused on new plastic and composite materials, additive technologies and intelligent industrial systems in the Industry 4.0 concept.
