Msc.Sensors and Instrumentation
Sensors and Instrumentation is a specialized field of the Cybernetics and Robotics study program. This field specializes in advanced sensors, videometry and non-contact measurement, data acquisition and transfer, processing and digitizing signals and virtual instrumentation.
The Cybernetics and Robotics study program has a modern conception based on suggestions put forward by international professional organizations. The lectures and theoretical studies are well balanced with creative work in our modern and well-equipped laboratories. Our education gives students a solid theoretical background which will enable them throughout their lives to adapt to new knowledge and new technologies. Our study program is comparable in contact with similar programs at the best universities in the world. We use standard English textbooks by renowned authors and modern teaching aids. Great emphasis is put on practical projects and individual work. Many project specifications come directly from industry. Make sure that the program offers a great amount of freedom in choosing elective courses.
In addition to the obligatory courses students can choose elective courses from other study programs. The obligatory courses provide a solid theoretical foundation, while the elective courses give students a chance to develop their abilities, e.g. in team work, and to improve their knowledge in related areas, ranging from industry, transportation and biomedical engineering to economics, social sciences, and humanities. For more information feel free to visit the program website.
Graduate profile
The graduate profile is given by a set of interesting and stimulating subjects which prepare the students for theoretical and application issues they will face in the area of applying information technology methods in technical practice. The program will prepare the graduates for a broad range of tasks, starting from a simple automation, to collection, measurement and transfer of technological data, to their processing in the automatic control systems, to design and applications of robotic systems as a whole. The main comparative advantage of the program is its interdisciplinarity. The graduates can find their careers actually in all domains, but especially in technical ones. Even formerly nontechnical fields like economics or medicine today require experts able to solve specific problems using information technologies. The students of our program will gain a strong background on mathematics, physics and electronics which we consider key subjects for a successful professional career in real-world IT applications. The education is provided mainly by young and creative experts, active also in scientific research, who offer students the possibility to take part in interesting research projects. This mutually useful cooperation not only further develops the students abilities and knowledge, students also have an opportunity to earn money. During the study students will get used to working in teams when solving complex tasks, to individual solutions of task components, and to continuous qualification improvements by systematic learning. Due to the fast pace of cybernetics and robotics evolution, these characteristics became absolutely necessary for a successful graduate.
