The Institute for Theory of Creation in Scenic Arts

This research and art research Institute focuses on research into creation in scenic arts in the age of technological media with an emphasis on the actual process of creation and reflecting on creation. It guarantees doctoral studies in stage design and theory of creation in scenic arts (scenology), which are open to graduates of DAMU master programmes as well as graduates in other fields.

The Institute for the Theory and History of Creation in Scenic Arts (renamed the Institute for Dramatic and Scenic Art Research in 2004) was established in 2001 on the initiative of leading teachers of the Department of Theory and Criticism, the Director of which was Jaroslav Vostrý. In 2015, Prof. Zuzana Sílová became the Director of the Institute for Theory of Creation in Scenic Arts.
