Photovoltaics
Research at Czech University of Life Sciences PragueGiven state of the art in solar technology, it is important to develop materials that remain stable when exposed to radiation and temperature changes over the long term, which can be used to develop new photovoltaic panels. This is because the material used to encapsulate solar cells limits the service life of photovoltaic panels much more than the photovoltaic cells themselves do. The encapsulant is poured to enclose the PV cells fully and protects them from moisture, thermal and mechanical damage while providing good optical contact between the surface of the PV cell and the protective outer cover. Therefore, the development of new-generation photovoltaic panels encapsulated in a polysiloxane gel is important.
