Gynecologic Oncology Clinical Research Group

Research at Charles University

The research activities of the Gynecologic Oncology Clinical Research Group of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the First Faculty of Medicine and General Teaching Hospital in Prague are focused on the diagnosis and management of patients with gynaecological malignancies, including vulvar, vaginal, cervical, endometrial, ovarian and primary peritoneal cancers, uterine sarcomas, and rare tumours. Through collaborative clinical trials led by the research group the main aim is to improve patients’ oncological outcome and their quality of life. It also strives to broaden the knowledge of the causal biology and mechanisms of these diseases.

The results of the group´s activities have contributed to increase the level of standard-of-care of gynaecological cancer management.

The Group is a founding member of the Central and Eastern European Gynecological Oncology Group (CEEGOG) and also a member of European Network of Gynaecological Oncological Trial groups (ENGOT).
