We invite you to the next edition of the Prague Science Film Fest (PSFF), an international film festival of popular science documentaries, taking place on October 20-23 at the CZU Graduation Hall (Aula).
The festival will offer the best scientific documentaries from around the world and welcome guests from the fields of science and film from Czechia and abroad to participate in discussions.
This year’s festival theme is “Dive.” From a record 2,830 submitted films, 21 were selected for competition. How to read the emotions of pigs, what it is like in an aquarium, and how to deal with addiction? Together, we will dive into the world of films and get answers to these and many more questions. For example, the film If pigs could talk is about research that used AI to decipher the sounds of domestic pigs. The Kratom Collectors offers a comprehensive look at this widespread drug. Fasting, the new investigation, about the benefits and risks of not eating for two weeks. And the documentary Light Darkness Light is about what it’s like to see again after thirty years, thanks to a new type of implant.
Don’t hesitate to take part in the audience competition, which will be announced on Thursday, October 23, at 8:30 p.m. in the CZU Graduation Hall (Aula).
The complete program can be found on the festival website psff.cz.
This year’s new features are:
VR film screenings (in the Graduation Hall foyer)
Outdoor screening on Monday, October 20, at 8 p.m. – Mad Max: Fury Road
Film workshops organized by MyStreet Films – open to students
The film and accompanying program is free for everyone. To participate, simply register on the website or at the festival in the foyer of the Graduation Hall, where festival wristbands will also be distributed.
