Ph.D.Agriculture in Tropics and Subtropics

The study program fuses the disciplines of nutrition, agricultural sciences, environmental studies, alternative technologies, rural development and social sciences.The program is intended for applicants with interest in science and research, international organizations, NGOs as well as business. The pathway allows flexibility in choosing courses that suits specific interests of the students. Research topics include: agribusiness wildlife management, food sciences, ethnobotany, phytopharmacology, agroforestry, socio-economy, and farmers' decision making; sustainable management of natural resources, minimal and alternative technologies.

The program aims to educate future leaders at the nexus of agriculture, food, biosciences and environmental science and policy, and empower them by providing rigorous training, an ethic of social change, and an intellectual community generating visions and models of alternative systems.
