Ph.D.System Engineering

The doctoral study branch Systems Engineering puts the main impact on educating the students in General Systems Theory and applied system sciences such as Systems Engineering, System Analysis, etc. Quantitative methods such as Statistics or Operations Research are the most important methods used in the students' research in this branch. The graduates are able to apply both descriptive and normative models to solve semi-structured or non-structured problems, manage enterprise or scientific projects, design and manage the decision-making processes under risk or uncertainty, carry out advanced statistical analyses and last but not least, contribute efficiently to the output of multidisciplinary working teams. Typically, the graduates use their knowledge and skills in top and strategic management, process and project management, as decision-makers in private bodies and public administration, institutions dealing with research or education, and in consulting.
