The programme of "Agricultural Chemistry" is focused on carrying research in scientific fields at the interface of chemistry with other natural sciences and agricultural disciplines, such as chemistry of natural compounds, special analytical chemistry and analytical methods, special biochemistry of plants and animals, genetics, and some special agricultural disciplines. Research topics include both basic research of natural processes and applied research in the field dealing with agricultural, food and environmental issues, and in advanced analytical techniques used for quality control and quality of agricultural and food products. The research usually consists of a combination of field sampling, laboratory analysis using up-to date laboratory equipment and data processing including advanced statistics. Students participate on various research projects studying processes occurring in transformation of chemicals in agricultural systems, materials and products and have option to spend a part of their study in leading laboratories.
