The Summer School on Migration is an annual event designed for students as well as young professionals in migration field from the Czech Republic and from abroad. It provides an unique space where academic debates can be linked to the praxis and where foreign expertise can be used in furthering the migration discussions in the Czech Republic. IOM Prague supports summer school on migration since 2009 together with partner universities (University of South Bohemia, University of Economics, Charles University). More than 400 students and young professional from Czech Republic but also more than 50 countries (including USA) attended the program. IOM will prepare and organize together with partners one week program of Summer School which includes topic from different migration fields – labour migration, integration of migrants, migration and development, migration and gender, migration and climate change and others. Lectures and workshops of Czech as well as foreign (US) experts should increase knowledge of university students and young professionals (from NGOs as well as state institutions) in migration. Lectures and workshops will be provided also by professors and lecturers from universities in the Czech Republic, such as Dušan Drbohlav (Charles University – Faculty of Science), Michal Vašečka (Masaryk University in Brno), Salim Murad (University of South Bohemia - European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations (EMMIR), Petra Ezzedine – (Charles University - Faculty of Humanities) and others. IOM can also invite experts from their missions worldwide including field, working directly with refugees and migrants. As well as will be important to include experts from state institutions to share their experience and views with students.
