Graduate profile
The aim of this programme is to give our graduates broad knowledge in two key areas. The first is applied computer science, in particular the ability to analyse and solve real-world problems, which makes the graduates highly employable directly after completing their bachelor’s degree. The second area is theoretical computer science (including a relatively broad mathematical foundation), which enables the graduates to continue their studies further. This dual-focus of our programme reflects the position of computer science on the border between technical and natural sciences.
The programme has three specialisations. One of them is more practically oriented (Databases and Web) and two are rather theoretically focused (General Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence). The first year of study is common for all three specialisations, which allows students to specialise later, after they gain some experience across the subjects.
An important part of the study programme is creative work, which includes a student thesis. This work is focused on software and specialised hardware development (in the applied area), and on scientific publications (in the theoretical area).
