M. A. state examination consists of four questions dealing with modern history of Russia and East-Central Europe, Russia and East-Central Europe in the present world, context of M. A. thesis and defence of M. A. thesis. M. A. thesis seminar focuses on the topics of history and contemporary society in Russia, post-Soviet area, East-Central and South-Eastern Europe. M.A. program graduates find very good employment opportunities in the state administration, in international organizations, diplomacy, in large multinational and Czech companies, in advisory bodies, and in journalism. They are also well prepared for various scholarly pursuits. They are flexible, knowledgeable and in possession of skills required in a wide variety of fields.
