Ph.D.Economics of Energy and Electrical Engineering

Czech Technical University in Prague - Faculty of Electrical Engineering

The mission of the doctoral study program Economics of Energy and Electrical Engineering is to educate academic and industrial researchers who successfully combine the technical field with economics and management. Students will use their experience, not only in academic research (in the universities, public research institutions, etc.), but also in research provided directly by companies ? especially in the management of industrial research and development. The program focuses on education, development and training of eminent professionals who will become successful founders, owners and senior managers of companies directly involved in the production, transmission, distribution (transport) of individual energy products as well as innovative technology companies developing new solutions for production management, transportation and energy consumption.

The main goal of the doctoral study program is the further significant development of economic thinking, the ability to apply the approach of finding the economic optimum or equilibrium points and developing the ability to ask relevant questions in the right way to find answers through their research. Students will learn how to formulate scientific problems and determine the direction of research, create independently and collaboratively, achieve research results, publish and present them, and also defend them at the international level.

Graduate profile

Graduates of the doctoral study program Economics of Energy and Electrical Engineering are able to formulate scientific problems, ask relevant questions and determine the direction of research to solve them. They are also able to create independently as well as collaboratively and achieve results, which they then publish and present; are able to transfer research results into practice and acquire skills in communication with both the professional and the general public.
