Study Applied Mechanics has always been part of a study engineering program. It focuses mainly in continuum mechanics, focusing on the mechanics of rigid and deformable bodies and environment. An integral part of the teaching field is to deepen understanding of the areas of theoretical and applied mathematics and physics. The necessary mathematical tools enable massive use of computer technology in solving complex problems of practice. Branch itself together with a branch of biomechanics and Mathematical Modelling in Engineering part of an integrated study program Applied Sciences, which was created as a response to declining demographic curve and which will be able to obtain similar knowledge and skills in smaller numbers of students, especially massive use of project-based learning They are participating in all fields.
Study is focused on preparation of highly qualified specialists for research, development and practice of engineering disciplines. Graduates are able to creatively apply the knowledge of theoretical mechanics, elasticity theory, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. Issues dominate the dynamics of systems analysis, synthesis and design of mechanisms, optimal dimensioning of machine components, determining the life of machinery and checking their reliability. They are able to solve challenging stationary and non-stationary internal and external mechanics of incompressible and compressible fluids, theory of thermal calculations of machines and equipment. They will also gain knowledge in mechanical control systems for active influence on their properties in mechatronics. Master methods and means of engineering experimental research of machines and structures.
