Msc.Building Structures
The objective of this study branch is to broaden the theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained during bachelor studies with the focus on advanced design techniques for load-bearing structures and analysis of their interaction with the non-load bearing structures. The study is divided into three semesters, with 30 ECTS credits each. The first two semesters provide instruction of theoretical courses (structural mechanics) in relation to specialized courses which include design of concrete, steel and timber structures and foundations. Courses focusing on numerical methods and computer-aided design are also provided. Students can choose from a selection of optional courses according to their desired specialization. The third semester is devoted solely to work on the master thesis.
Graduate profile
The branch of study prepares specialists mainly for design, construction and operation of building structures. The graduates will also find employment in public administration or in research and development of new advanced structures and materials for building structures. The main objective of the study is to prepare graduates with broad expertise who should be able to solve complex problems. After graduation, the students can proceed in their studies in the doctoral study program.
