Doctoral students gain theoretical and more extensive technical knowledge for a scientific approach to manufacturing technology and/or related fields. Research covers technological production processes of semiproducts, machining and renovation of machine parts, assembly of mechanical engineering products and equipment including quality control systems in mechanical engineering oriented manufacturing. Doctoral students expand theoretical fundamentals and application knowledge from materials engineering, technology of casting, forming , welding and surface treatment. Students can also gain knowledge from the theoretical and methodical study of technological designing of production processes and systems based on application of general and systemic relations between particular technologies and requirements for integration, automation and effectiveness of production processes.
The study of Manufacturing Technology provides PhD students with scientific research and independent creative work in the field of research and development at the FMI, research institutions and in industry. Graduate benefits by theoretical knowledge gained by the study aimed at basic and applied research. PhD student obtains the methods of studying engineering subjects and gains a current knowledge in the field. He masters both computational and simulation tools, which are based on modern hardware and software. He manages methods of experimental research on models and real works related to the issues of the dissertation. His education based on deep knowledge and other skills will provide the PhD graduate with skill to evaluate and formulate achieved initial results deepending on the demands of research and development. His profile involves international presentation or realization of his results with regard to the protection of intellectual property.
