The card called “Lítačka” is a transport card, which is mainly used to travel within the public transport network of Prague. The use of this card includes all public transport in the city: metro, bus, tram, or electric mobile. The benefits of having the “Lítačka” card is that it is not required to sign or mark the entrance – as is regularly done with paper tickets – but its use is as an identifier that records the payment in advance and the validity of the balance. The card is shown only when a transport supervisor requests it.
The easiest way to obtain the Lítačka card is to create an online application and receive it via postal mail directly to home. Another way to obtain the Card is to go directly to the Škoda Palace Customer Service Center located at: Jungmannova 35/29, 110 00 Nové Město. See the link
The card has a preferential rate for students, makes sure to request it. Payments to generate a balance can be from 1 month to one full year. It is important to mention that public transport in Prague is one of the most economical and efficient in Europe. It has a wide network that connects the entire city, 24 hours a day.
Another interesting aspect of the Lítačka card is that it can be used as a reading card in the Libraries of the city of Prague or as a charging card for an electric mobile in the network of PRE points. In addition, the holder of a Lítačka card is entitled to an extensive discount program, which can be used in Prague and in the Central Bohemian region.
