The Czech Republic is located in an extraordinary way in the heart of Europe, so we recommend you have a map and good information on the cheapest way to travel and get to know different places during your stay.

České Dráhy is the train service of the Czech Republic that connects the entire republic and surrounding countries in a comfortable, accessible and efficient way. Being a student in the European Union you will have great benefits in your favor.

In České Dráhy you will find great discounts for traveling by train presenting your student ID or valid ISIC card. It is important to take advantage of the discounted rate for students as it is designed for students 18 to 25 years of age. The discount amounts to 75% of the regular rate. These tickets may be: flexible reduced ticket (Flexi zvýhodněná jízdenka), ticket with a mandatory train (Vázaná jízdenka) or tickets for the second class.

Where to get them? Discounts can be applied at the counter, in the electronic store, or if for some reason the ticket offices are not open you can buy your tickets, directly with an officer on the train. This is the official site:

If your interest in traveling during your stay is large we recommend you purchase a Karta, which is a student ID card. This is achieved by asking for a form at the ticket counter, in which you will complete basic information such as: name, surname, date of birth, an identification photo and in another segment the school must complete the duration of the academic year, with stamp and signature. This card will speed up all your trips!

Don’t forget that student discounts for train travel also apply during the summer.
