The Czech Republic is one of the countries that conform the European Union, although in its agreement it was decided not to change to EUROS and keep its original currency called Koruna that in Czech means crown. It is known under the sign Kč that has the [ˇ] háčekaccent characteristic in the Czech language and its code is CZK that corresponds to the country. The designation of Czech Crowns began since the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1989, and subsequent separation from Slovakia in 1993.

The Czech crowns bear the emblem of the country that is the Lion of Bohemia, recognizable for his double tail. The currency coins are divided into: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Kč.

The banknotes of the independent Czech currency are divided into 100, 200, 500, 1.000, 2.000 and 5.000 Kč, these have printed forms of cultural personalities and leaders important for the construction of this nation, such as: Jan Amos Comenius, philosopher and Czech pedagogue, King Charles IV of Bohemia or Emma Destinnová, soprano singer and the president Tomáš G. Masaryk.
