The Government of the Czech Republic offers scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance in support of the study of foreign nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic.

Scholarships opportunities by the universities:

Charles University in Prague

  • Financial support for students in English study programmes is organized by individual faculties. At this moment, two CU faculties offer a scholarship to prospective students in English study programmes:
  • Faculty of Science: STARS – Support for TAlented PhD Research Students
  • Faculty of Social Sciences: Development scholarships for students from developing and transition countries
  • Each faculty also offers scholarships for outstanding students. Students may apply for this scholarship after their first year. Successful candidates will receive a lump sum of CZK 9,000 – 20,800. The exact amount is prescribed by an internal regulation of the respective faculty.

Czech Technical University in Prague

  • Students of CTU can apply for a scholarship after completing the first semester of their study programme. The scholarship is awarded occasionally and on the basis of very good study records from previous semesters. Successful applicants receive a monthly grant, and the amount may vary up to CZK 10 000 per month. Applicants apply to the Vice-Dean for International Relations of the faculty at which they are studying. The decision is made by the faculty.

Czech University of Life Sciences Prague

  • CULS Prague Faculties award scholarships for:
  1. Enrolled students with outstanding study results
  2. Enrolled students in precarious personal situations
  • 3 Enrolled international students with outstanding study results (Rector’s scholarship)

University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague

  • Students of UCT, Prague can apply for a scholarship after completing the first year of their study programme. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of excellent study results from previous years. Successful applicants receive a grant in an amount equal to their tuition fee per one year. The decision is made by the Vice-Rector for External Relations and Communication.
