The doctoral program focuses on the study of physical properties of condensed matter and materials. Particular emphasis will be given to the acquisition of a working knowledge in basic physical disciplines such as quantum theory, thermodynamics, and statistical physics, and their applications in theoretical and experimental physics of condensed matter. The doctoral program graduates will also become familiar with modern experimental methods and novel technologies. They will be flexible and qualified for basic and/or applied research as well as development activities in the field of physics, materials science, chemistry and biomedicine, and for the respective academic career. The graduates will have the capabilities to work in foreign countries and to succeed in business and in management, or at leading positions in industrial enterprises.
