A graduate of the Ph.D. program in Botony is qualified to do independent research in botany and plant ecology (including mycology). This includes the identification and analysis of key research questions, the design of experimental/data collection techniques and analytical tools for handling them, up to the final presentation of results. The study program also includes essential theoretical concepts on which the discipline is based, and methodological issues used in data collection and analysis. The graduate has a command of English sufficient to do research at international research institutions outside the Czech Republic.
