Graduates, highly qualified, are able to solve demanding problems dealing with the influence of mechanical loading, temperature, aggressive environments and other external effects on materials, development of new materials and technologies, durability and safety of systems etc. In order to study said problems, a wide spectrum of experimental methods, theoretical procedures and mathematical modelling is applied. A substantial part of the education consists of cooperation of students in various research projects carried out at the department of materials or at external institutes and companies.
Graduates have very good prospects of jobs in nuclear and classical energy industries, automotive and aircraft engineering, material processing and many other areas.
