The Faculty of Architecture offers four fields of study: Architecture ? Theory and Design, Urban Design and Spatial Planning, History of Architecture and Monument Conservation and Architecture, Building and Technology. Every year by the end of May the Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague accepts applicants into its English Doctoral Study Programme in Architecture and Urbanism. The applicants chose among a number of attractive research topics that are published by the end of April every year. The entrance procedure consists of submitting a number of required documents, including the certificate of a master´s degree in the same or related field of study, and an interview with an entrance exam commission optionally. The Doctoral Study Programme is carried out through a full-time or part-time form of study. Both full-time and part-time studies at CTU generally take 4 years, scheduled into 8 semesters including the Doctoral Thesis submission. Each doctoral candidate is supervised by a tutor who prepares for him/her an Individual Study Plan with the courses and exams to be accomplished in the first two years of the Doctoral Study Programme. The PhD. students go through regular evaluation and take part in compulsory student workshops. They have the option to publish and participate in conferences and events related to their research theme. Successful completion of the final State Doctoral Examination is pre-requisite for the presentation and defence of the Doctoral Thesis. Martin Pospíšil, Ph.D.) ? research of industrial heritage and architecture (PhDr. Benjamin Fragner, doc. Ing. arch. Petr Vorlík, Ph.D.) ? research on modern technology ? performance and sustainability (doc. Dr. Henri Hubertus Achten).
