Plasma physics is a rapidly expanding field of study which applications go from space science through propulsion systems, food processing, medical technologies to nanotechnology. Our absolvent will get a broad background of a current state of plasma physics which includes plasma diagnostics (measurements of basic plasma parameters, optical diagnostics), theory (a single particle motion, magnatohydrodynamics, a kinetic theory, stability) and simulations (basic numerical methods for solving ordinary and partial differential equations).
Each absolvent passes basic courses of each of these three main fields of plasma physics (plasma diagnostics, plasma theory, numerical simulations) and should be able to use them in his scientific research. The narrow specialization of each PhD candidate is built on this basis and each student has wide variety of specializations including discharge experiments, biomedical applications, fusion experiments, a theory of basic plasma phenomena, and simulations.
